Start cursing me now

From the maker of the Grow series, some of my favorite puzzle games ever, comes Dwarf Complete! I may or may not have stayed up all night trying to complete it, and I only needed hints from the web twice! Woot!

Let’s make a deal

I had an excellent evening playing games with Shaun and Scott where we played “I’m the Boss” by Face 2 Face Games for the first time. We only had time to play through it once but it was incredibly fun. It seems to be an extremely well balanced game at this point, though it’s hard to say for sure after only one session. Very highly recommended.

Left Behind

So in a pretty quick turn of events, my main character in World of Warcraft has been stranded on one server while my guild left for another one.

Somewhat surprisingly, I’m only a little irritated with the guild. I had only recently come back after a very long hiatus and most of the current members of the guild I do not even know. Still, it was quite a shock to login after only being off for just over a week because I was busy with real life to find all of the old trusty guild stuff suddenly unavailable.

Now I am trying to figure out what to do. I missed out on the free realm transfers and my petition to get a free one was denied. I could pay to have the character moved to the same server as the rest of the guild, but I really don’t know if I want to bother. Several of the people that went on hiatus from WoW about the same time that I did are going to be in the same situation if they do decide to come back, but I really am not sure how likely that is with many of them and am pretty sure it’s not going to happen with several others.

Flash Game: Tumbler

Great fun, but not for people who get motion sick.

Cryptic ideas for Blizzard

I just got a fairly unexpected email: NCSoft has reactivated my City of Heroes/City of Villains account for the weekend. It seems that they are launching a new retail combo-box of both editions of the game (Available only at that bastion of retail hell: Walmart) and want to try and get lapsed players, like myself, back into the game.

That was kind of cool, and I might take them up on it and log back in to take a look around if it doesn’t take too long to reinstall the game, but the item that I thought was really cool was the Veteran Rewards system that they touted in the same message.

Essentially, the longer you have an active account in the game the more cool stuff you get with your characters. I honestly have no idea how Blizzard could do something similar with WoW but I would love to see it happen.

The trickle continues…

So today we find out that WoW: Burning Crusade will be a retail package and be available in regular and Expensive Collector’s editions.

The thing that irritates me? They still don’t have a release date other than “late 2006″.

(On a side note, I’m also a bit irritated that the last class to get information about the new spells and talents in the expansion are Hunters. They have to do them in some order and it may as well be this one.)

So close I could smell it…

I’ve been playing Cribbage at lunch with a coworker and today, after we have been trading skunks the last couple of days, I had a near-miss at getting double-skunked. Thank goodness I managed those last six points.

Live Arcade Board Games!

Just saw that Microsoft has announced that several great board games will be showing up on Xbox Live Arcade someday: Carcassone, Alhambra, and Settlers of Catan! I imagine the Catan game will just be a port of the excellent PC version, or at least I hope it will be that that good.
