More cool Home Media Option tricks: Current weathe…

Infrequent posts about stuff.
Busy week: Painting went really well, and I’m actually fairly excited to get the bathroom done as well. Hoping to get some sanding and priming done hopefully this week, and then maybe painting next! Woot!
The closet systems are a bit different than either Betsy or I had really expected, but they are nice and we’re already starting to move stuff into them and out of wherever we’ve been stashing them up until now. (Mostly in the front half of the attic)
Minicon was this last weekend and was quite a good con. The new hotel is really, really, really good and I hope we can stay there for a long time. The art show had some hiccups though, and this time I _will_ be volunteering to help out with next year.
Tivo also finally released their Home Media Option, and we’ve been having some fun with that. It’s not perfect, but it does work. This morning I ran across a way to play shoutcast streams!

Ah, the fabulous smell of primer! Er, well, actually it’s basically the smell of ammonia filling the house, but at least we’ve got the priming on the closets done! Then painting tonight, and they install the organizer system on Wednesday. Finally!
Also, if the yeast test doesn’t come out right? I’m very seriously considering going straight to kegging to get around the whole problem.

Quick Update: Haven’t done a damn thing since that last batch failed so badly. I’ve got some time off coming up though, so I’m going to look into doing a yeast test to figure out if there is a yeast out there that will work.
So far my plan is to try between 4-6 different yeasts in 2 bottles each with just water and sugar. I should get a good idea of what the individual flavors and carbonation levels are like from that. Any suggestions for yeasts to use would be greatfully accepted.

So I think that I have found what I would like to replace my Handspring Visor Platinum with: The Garmin iQue 3600. It’s about the same size and weight as my existing Visor, has a much better screen, still uses grafitti unlike a lot of the other new Palm OS devices, has a built in GPS, and has an SD expansion slot.
The only problem is that in order to adequately use the GPS, you really have to have a fairly large SD memory card to hold the geographical data, but since I also want Bluetooh in my next handheld I wouldn’t be able to use both the really nice integrated GPS functions at the same time! There is a rumor that they will be announcing another version in the next year or so that will have Bluetooth, so maybe just sitting tight and waiting for a bit will be just the right thing to do.
